Being a Hindu island, Christmas 2008 never came to Bali and I missed it. I missed my family, I missed the music, I missed watching my parents' and brother's faces when they opened gifts I knew they'd enjoy. I missed holding up the tree, while my dad screws the trunk into the base and my mom saying, "a little to the left." I missed decorating the tree, listening to my mom singing along to her Christmas cds. I missed getting up early to fill my parents stockings and see what goodies I could find in mine. I missed snapping green beans and wrapping presents on the floor behind my bed so that no one would see if they walked in with out knocking. I missed shrimp cocktail, mashed potatoes and gravy and my mom's apple pie. I'd never been away from home for Christmas and it was hard to be so far away.
But while Christmas didn't come, December 25th did, so we decided to enjoy it and we took off on a countryside tour by motorbike.
